Update on this week

Some changes regarding the program for this week.

First, an update on the model.
We meet tomorrow at 10 in the studio to insert all individual projects in the big model. The model has to be finished before the presentation on wednesday.
At 3 pm we meet in the gallery outside the library to pin-up the projects and install the models, so everything needs to be ready before 3 pm.
Everything needs to be pinned-up and ready for the censor to take a look at 4 pm.

The final delivery of the studio documentation is on monday 30th, at 4pm, both digital and printed version. The documentation, along with the joint exhibition work will be evaluated as the grade for the lab course.

The schedule for wednesday will be like this:
Each group will get 20 minutes for presenting and 20 minutes for feedback and discussion.
The presentations will be held in the gallery outside the library.

13:00 – 13:40 Annika, Marianne
13:40 – 14:20 Alice, Erik
Break
14:30 – 15:10 Theos
15:10 – 15:50 Liv, Stephen
15:50 - 16:10 Nikol
16:10 - 16:30 Conclusion

On thursday we meet at 10 to have a final evaluation of the course,  to make pictures of all models and to discuss the exhibition. We propose that at 13.00 the evaluation reference group (Alice and Steven) meet with all of you to get feedback for the final course report.

Model Monday

Hope everything is OK in the final phase and that you are ready to submit this afternoon!

On Monday we suggest that all the groups help out in the process of getting the big model ready for the presentations. That means that you should place your projects in the model and help out in finishing the surroundings so that we have a complete model for the presentations on Wednesday.

On tuesday afternoon our censor will have a look at all the projects, so that means that all the models and posters should be ready before 16.00 on tuesday. You should also finish and submit the documentation and make your presentation ready for wednesday. The schedule for wednesday will be posted later today.

Workshop Monday

I just got the confirmation from Fredrik that we can have one member from each group representing the course in the workshop. So the last two groups need to decide who will go. As we said yesterday the workshop, so I recommend that you send someone familiar with that language:)

INVITASJON til WORKSHOP
By-campus Elgeseter - Øya - Gløshaugen
14. MARS 2016 kl. 11.00 – 14.00

Program for dagen:
- Orientering om campusarbeidet, Fredrik Shetelig
- Introduksjonsforelesning: ”Univesities and Cities”, Janne Corneil
- Introduksjon til gruppeoppgavene
- Gruppearbeid
- Lunch
- Diskusjon og gjennomgang fra gruppearbeid

About
“Cuba will count as having the most beautiful academy of arts in the world.” —Fidel Castro (1961)

Cuba's ambitious National Art Schools project, designed by three young artists in the wake of Castro's Revolution, is neglected, nearly forgotten, then ultimately rediscovered as a visionary architectural masterpiece.

In 1961, three young, visionary architects were commissioned by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara to create Cuba's National Art Schools on the grounds of a former golf course in Havana, Cuba. Construction of their radical designs began immediately and the school's first classes soon followed. Dancers, musicians and artists from all over the country reveled in the beauty of the schools, but as the dream of the Revolution quickly became a reality, construction was abruptly halted and the architects and their designs were deemed irrelevant in the prevailing political climate. Forty years later the schools are in use, but remain unfinished and decaying. Castro has invited the exiled architects back to finish their unrealized dream.

Unfinished Spaces features intimate footage of Fidel Castro, showing his devotion to creating a worldwide showcase for art, and it also documents the struggle and passion of three revolutionary artists.
